Bradford Scott Email & Phone Number | Back in 2010 I was trying to find myself and worked at Geek Squad at my local Best Buy. Until one day I was recruited from my retail job to work for GTECH as a night shift computer operator. This is when my story truly began... Hi my name is Brad Scott and I invite you to join me on this journey from being lost and unfocused to working for a 100+ billion dollar company where I spend my time driving best practices and helping to guide my team towards our DevOps goal of daily software deliveries. While working as an operator at GTECH I began to get my hands on some basic PHP/PERL/Shell scripts and was able to reverse engineer them to understand the purpose they served and why they were helpful. My innate ability to understand complex code without direction did not go unnoticed and I was subsequently promoted to SQA Technician. Things got more complicated as we adopted mobile/web wagering for the Illinois Lottery. All of the sudden we couldn't keep up with the demands to test our POS terminals and the web with our limited team of 5. This is when I turned my sights on Selenium Webdriver. I spent the next 6 months researching web automation frameworks and best practices, and with the time allowed by my team and management I was able to deliver an initial Java based automation framework from scratch that could be run against Selenium Grid as well as drive Appium and Selendroid at the time. My first venture into writing code was a success, and I was hooked! After this success, it wasn't long before I had a job offer to write automation full time against a fledgling web application for a company in the greater St. Louis area. I was thrilled to learn I would have the opportunity to work with other engineers that had been doing this type of work for years and bolster my skill set. At this point I was able to flex my coding skills and aptitude, which landed me roles as an automation engineer against API's, then as a software engineer against a new financial management system. In my current role I have had the opportunity to work on more infrastructure related projects as well as application development and automation. I got my first look at Docker and Kubernetes and have become well versed in both. I have also been allowed the opportunity to drive best practices and assist in defining standards for quality across the organization.
