Bobby Torick Email & Phone Number | Growing up, I was known by my family as the Destroyer. I took anything and everything apart but couldn't put it back together. I developed an urge to rebuild the things I disassembled or broke and fulfilling it left me more satisfied than anything else I had done. I've carried that desire my entire life and it led me to pursuing my engineering degree at the University of Utah. My first job with the Air Force was as a Reverse and Additive Manufacturing Engineer. I was able to work with equipment and software I had no idea previously existed. I was blown away and hooked in one fell swoop. Within this job I was able to recreate obsolete aircraft parts; parts that industry was no longer providing to the DoD. Parts with drawings from the 1950's that had been scanned and printed so many times they lost their fidelity and subsequent usefulness. Our team not only created technical data packages that the DoD could give to industry to source parts but also created the tooling and manufacturing processes to build these parts in-house. Adding an additional layer of "coolness" was the ability to expedite our manufacturing of tooling by employing industrial 3d printers. My time at Tinker eventually came to an end and the Air Force moved me to the beautiful Mojave Desert, where I currently reside. I'm now a Test Operations Engineer with a goal of flying backseat as a Flight Test Engineer before I move again. I've take a temporary duty as an Executive Officer where I'm honing some less used skills and learning about big picture Air Force. If you were a fly on the wall in any of my work environments, you would see someone who walks through halls and shops and says hi to everyone they pass. Who smiles and shakes hands with a genuine heart. More than engineering, I love meeting people and building relationships. Outside of work I enjoy the outdoors, fitness, and building/refurbishing anything with a motor. I love a good conversation, feel free to contact me!
