Blake Grow Email & Phone Number | I am happy to say that I am a J.D. graduate of the George Washington University Law School with a concentration in environmental law. I hope it is not too cliche to say that my career interests changed significantly after my first year of law school and my interest in environmental law was somewhat of a surprise. My professional experience has primarily focused on the intricacies of the Clean Water Act and the broader interactions of environmental law with oil and gas policy. Despite the complexity of this subject matter, my ability to break down and articulate these concepts brought myself and a partner to the semifinals of the West Virginia University National Energy and Sustainability Moot Court Competition. In line with this, my article on the environmental justifications for doing away with trespass-by-hydraulic fracture, “A Modern Approach to the Ad Coelom Doctrine and Trespass-by-Fracture,” will be published this year in the GWU Journal of Energy and Environmental Law. I am passionate about appellate litigation and have been a member of the GWU Moot Court Board since my 1L year. Recently, I made contributions to an amicus brief before the Supreme Court of the United States on an oil spill issue as well as a brief before the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia on a Freedom of Information Act question. It is my hope that I might someday apply my skills abroad, and I have been fortunate enough to have spent time living throughout the world. I speak and write Arabic and have worked and studied in Jordan. Additionally, I spent two years doing missionary work in the country of South Africa. When I'm not studying for the bar (as I currently am), you can find me playing my guitars, critiquing movies, or cooking with my wife.
