I like to think of myself as first and foremost a storyteller, then a video editor, then so many other things. My role as a Content Producer for the National Business Review has allowed me to explore and share the stories of the business world. From the people who have found and fought for success in the business world to the ones who are doing their best to navigate the many traps and pitfalls of their respective industries. Growth is an important aspect in anything I do. I have gone from learning to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro to co-producing a video series, all in two and a half years. I have helped redesign NBR videos by creating editable, motion graphic elements, on Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, that integrate into our production workflow. I have learnt to film interviews both in studio and on the field. The latter of which challenged me to develop my camera skills and knowledge of audio recording techniques. I have a thirst for knowledge and a need to continue building my skills which pushes me to create high quality content. I’m also passionate about sharing this knowledge and often teach members of my team skills that help us push our video content to the next level. I believe that stories are what connect us. They help us learn and grow. They guide us when we can’t find solutions. That’s what I want to do. I want to produce content that makes a difference in someone’s life, be that in their business or in their personal world. The words we choose to speak have power but that’s not what it’s all about. Sometimes it’s the silence between the sounds that has the most impact.
