Beverly Soler Email & Phone Number | Working with the University of Florida Physical Plant Division in the Quality Department was an excellent opportunity to take various classes on computer programs and supervisory classes. I also was able to volunteer on various committees while there, such as: March of Dimes, University of Florida Community Campaign, Operation Christmas and United Way. I actually participated with the United Way Disbursement Committee which determines the amounts that local charities receive through United Way. A great way to serve the community, learn more about the community and how the local United Way organization worked in the community to help others. Since the Quality Department consisted of only me and my supervisor I handled all clerical responsibilities, accounts payable and receivable, travel, scheduled meetings and classes given by our department, worked on various reports (such as our Annual Report for the entire Physical Plant Division), created certificates and fliers for various projects, and worked with other departments with the Physical Plant on various committees. Working at the Animal Science Department at the University of Florida also gave me many opportunities to interact with internal customers, like the professors and students. I was assigned to Professor McDowell who authored many journal articles that I transcribed for him to submit to different magazines. When I was not assisting Professor McDowell I was assisting the Office Manager in the Business Office. I did mail runs, filing, data entry and other various clerical duties.
