Previously, he was Managing Director of CBRE Capital Advisors, Inc., CBRE's real estate investment banking business, and before that was Managing Director of Hodges Ward Elliott, a global lodging brokerage business where he expanded operations into Brazil, Asia and the Middle East. Bernard began his career in strategy and sales with The Coca-Cola Company, and several years in Asia. Bernard is a Dutch-American dual citizen. Interested in technology innovation across property, agriculture, travel, and finance, he has invested in and/or advises Do Good Organics, Producers Market, Estating, Graceful.io, and Arvol - a carbon offset savings token to stop climate change, backed by 8,300 hectares in Mainque, Rio Negro, Argentina. Personal passions include Humanist Photography, Languages, Outdoor Education, and Wilderness Medicine. Bernard Co-Chairs the Advisory Council of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and serves as Treasurer on the Board for the Vermont Center for Photography.
