In addition to my course work, I completed an independent project combining my senior Computer Science research and my time with the Ammerman Center to create a stand-alone digital 3D audio development application. The program first performs background signal analysis on audio files in MATLAB, classifies them using mathematical timbre "descriptors", and then sends that information into a graphical interface developed using C# and Unity that allows the user to fully optimize and customize an immersive multi-channel 3D audio environment. I love the balance that computers have with art; whether creative programming or mathematical music, I'm always looking for a way to intersect the two and use the combination to my advantage.
