Ben Mak Email & Phone Number | Update on 19 Nov 2020: After working 9 years and 7 months in Marshall Islands Ship Registry, I was asked to attend a meeting in head office of the town on a Sunny day near end-February 2020. My immediately supervisor (who turned his 71) told the local office administration manager to set me “out” on the ground that I reached the age of “retirement” (when I am “just” 55)…. WTF ….. Anyway, I accepted the terms and packed (and trashed) all my stuffs in the office. Well, spending almost 10 years in ship registry trade, I thought “I am finished” and looking to apply a local electrician license to continue life. But because of COVID-19, the training course was delayed…. And I end up finding a job post as “Administrative Assistant” for Nauru Ship Registry. And below are those for the old day before end February 2020 (Sorry that I do not have the mood so far to amend it the moment): My service in Marshall Islands Ship Registry including preparing & updating Port State Control pre-warning matters to MI-registered fleets within the region, as well technical queries of SOLAS/MARPOL/MLC issues, occasional ship visit, delivery agent on ship registration, and seafarer documentation. Before Marshall Islans Ship Registry, I have serviced several leading petrochemical companies (Ashland Inc[Drew Ameriod], BP Marine, & Nalco[Nalfleet Division]) in promoting marine chemicals, marine fuel/lubricants, Fuel oil treatments, and shipboard treatment automation solution to domestic and foreign merchant navy operators. It has been a rather short period that I was hired as a ship surveyor of a local marine surveying and consultant firm. The major responsibilities include conducting numerous P&I entry condition / H&M surveys, steel cargo preloading/discharge oversight, on/off-hire /bunker audits, cargo lightening monitoring and causalities investigation to client vessels (local or ocean-going). Beside completed Higher diploma (Marine Engineering - 89/Hong Kong Polytechnic, & Yes ... the burning one in November-2019). I also completed an MBA degree (University of Western Sydney / 2000). I have completed my ISM basic training as Designated Person (inserted Sept, 2012). Specialties: Marine Surveying : P&I entry & conditions; Pre-purchase; On/Off Hire; Draft surveying; Bunker surveying; Steel Cargo Pre-loading; On/Off Hire; & Lightering Supervision. Application expert of fire side and water side treatment from low to Ultra-high pressure boiler (60 bar), industrial chemical cleaning; marine lubricant oil; marine bunker fuel; & Cleanroom (NEBB) Technology.
