  Becky Bentley is a I am energised by change. I took the leap last year and left my job to embark on an adventure of self-discovery and upskilling. Looking back ⏪ Working on the frontline using my emotional awareness has been the common theme throughout my working life and applying this to the customer experience has always been the element that drives me the most. Over the last 14 years I have worked with hundreds of students from different cohorts and with a range of needs. It has been so fulfilling to have made a positive impact on their lives by supporting and empowering them to achieve their potential. I have a particular interest in people’s fear and feelings around failure, which I can relate to on a personal level, so I understand how powerful they can be in holding you back. My patience and calmness in confrontational situations are some of my key strengths and colleagues have often commented that I am quick to build rapport with people. I’m not a traditionalist - I’m excited by flipping things on their head and merging worlds to generate ideas! Looking ahead ⏩ I am now a sponge for learning and am exploring opportunities to utilise my people skills to support and champion the SMEs, micro businesses and community organisations adding social value in some way. I don’t yet know what this looks like exactly, or have a laser focus on a particular job title, but am working towards building my knowledge and skills in the following areas: ▪ The world of UX and human-centred tech ▪ Digital inclusion and literacy in all its forms with a view to helping people stay healthy and fully involved in society ▪ Sustainability, the circular economy & tackling waste ▪ Community engagement and peer support ▪ Writing for the web, digital marketing and SEO ▪ Content creation & management When I’m not thinking about career change, I love exploring new places on foot, live music, improv comedy and coming up with quirky ideas to regenerate the high street!
