Bassier Irfan Email & Phone Number | Currently, I am working as analyst in one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in Malaysia which is Duopharma Biotech Bhd in Department of Stability. My job scope is to test the products that we keep at certain conditions (temperature and humidity) and at the specific time frames. The stability department usually will monitor the shelf-life of the drugs as to make sure that the drugs are safe to be consumed by the consumers. I work in Bangi branch which I usually doing the tests that related to all types of medicine which are injections, syrup, tablets and capsules that produced by Duopharma Biotech Bhd. The analysis will cover two important tests which are physical and chemical tests. The examples of physical tests are density, pH, hardness, disintegration and uniformity of weight. For the chemical tests, we will do the assay, dissolution and related substance for the products which the instruments use are usually HPLC, GC-FID and UV-Vis. However, the test of analysis will depands on the types of the drugs such as tablets, capsules, granules or injection. I also have to manage the standards (Active pharmaceutical Ingredients) for chemical testings and this standards are the working and reference standards. I need to make sure all the standards are available all the time for analysts to do the testings by requesting from the Quality Control Department. Since graduating I have gained laboratory experience as a final year student at my university to further enhance my technical skills. I was assigned with a project that related to synthesize a new analogue of antibiotic which is known as vancomycin. The project has exposed myself with a work of synthesizing and testing of the products. It has been a wonderful experience working within a small and very productive team and I have enjoyed assisting my supervisor, particularly when performing testing of the compound that I have gained from the previous synthesis.
