A large part of my career was spent implementing ERP systems, including Baan (now Infor), SAP R/3 and SYSPRO. I spent a number of years specialization in advanced planning, working with a variety of advanced planning systems including i2, JustEnough and Preactor. A strong focus in this period was on the business processes required to get value from advanced planning systems. For a period of 5 years I worked as supply planning manager at Brandhouse (Heineken/Diageo/NBL joint venture), a leader in the South African liquor industry. I managed a team that was responsible for the supply and distribution planning of the beer and spirits product categories in a complex, international supply chain. I played key roles in developing the S&OP process and implementing SAP APO. I was responsible for overall OTIF and stock holding performance, with a stock holding exceeding two billion Rand (100 million). I also served as principal for the change management business division in iPlan Global. This allowed me to focus on the people preparation aspects of large, complex business system implementations. I relocated to the United Kingdom in 2017, where I work as operations manager for the Logistics Institute at the University of Hull. This allowed me to expand my experience and knowledge of leading edge technologies, techniques and thinking in supply chains optimisation and logistics.
