  Barbara Diniz is a Thank you for taking the time to visit me! There are a lot of things I'm passionate about but, talking specifically about my professional life, I love energy! I'm so glad to be able to practice my profession in its most "original" way: I'm an engineer and I'm always solving problems. In my case, the problems are related to electrical power generation. Cool, right? And in a company so important for the proper functioning of the Brazil's biggest city, São Paulo. Currently, I work at EMAE, which is a state-owned company linked to the government of the state of São Paulo. We are responsible for controlling the water volume of the Pinheiros channel and for generate electric power at the Henry Borden Hydroelectric Power Plant, among other power plants in the state of São Paulo. I, specifically, work at the Energetic Planning and Operation Department, in which the main task is to be responsible for the management of the power generation of the plants and for the management of the water and electro-energy systems. I hold a Master of Energy title from the University of Auckland, in which I studied about energy markets and technologies, focusing on the impact of renewable expansion in the brazilian electricity system.
