She frequently writes about books, most recently in The Chicago Tribune, The Jewish Review of Books, The Iowa Review, and TriQuarterly, and her translations of Hebrew poetry can be read in The Catamaran Literary Reader, The Iowa Review, Poetry International, RHINO, Tupelo Quarterly, and Waxwing. Her work has been supported by a Howard Foundation Fellowship and grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture. She has been awarded residencies from Ledig House / Writers' Omi and The Vermont Studio Center, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize in Poetry. She serves on the board of the American Literary Translators Association and on the advisory board of the Jewish Languages Project. She is a member of the executive committee in nonfiction at the Modern Languages Association, is an advisory board member for Bloomsbury’s series in creative writing, and writes On Being and Timelessness, a newsletter on literature, translation, and ideas on Substack. She is an associate professor at Columbia College Chicago, where she directs the MFA program in Creative Writing.
