For 3.5 years, I worked on more than just the dialogue, tutorials, narrative, and UI components of games, but also e-manuals, marketing materials, and game guides. - In my latest job, I went above and beyond what was expected of me to pursue corrections in legal documents. - Currently I am dedicating some time to programming, and I correct spelling errors and inconsistent formatting in code when I come across them. Work Style: I'm a focused worker who strives for accuracy and clarity in messaging. My thoroughness combined with diligence leads to quality work in a timely manner. Calling: I frequently play video games, watch video essays, and read online articles created by small or mid-sized teams. And these creators contribute to swaths of my favorite media and artistic experiences, but they often lack a certain polish in their text. I think this makes it more difficult for audiences to find these sources of entertainment and information as distinguished as larger companies who can afford to have full-time teams of QA and text specialists. I want to provide a simple and affordable way for these creators to get a leg up in building their clout and respect among their peers. Philosophy: I remember learning most of the real rules of basic syntax by reading novels as a kid. And while I'm sure novels expanded my vocabulary as well, I can recall learning certain terms and some cultural references through video games and Calvin and Hobbes. At Nintendo, I commonly thought about the audiences of the games I proofread, and when I learned that the word counts of many games (usually RPGs) are greater than typical novels, I realized the extent to which this medium can be a great source for young folk to learn and practice reading. These ideas are easily transferrable to online spaces and even extend to anyone of any age learning English, which is why I'm also aiming to assist with mediums outside video games. Any piece of writing can be a place of learning, and that's how I approach this work.
