My research experiences on a team with graduate students have fascinated me as well, and I am excited to take my knowledge and drive into the real world! I first explored the professional world and working on a serious team project in high school, when I interned for NASA for two years. My first year I got practice using instruments to search a site for signs of molecular life and crafting a professional report. The second year I was able to take those skills and help other students in a leadership role. Now that I am enrolled at Brigham Young University, I have loved developing prowess with different software and design practices that I can implement in a valuable project. Up to now, the robotics and design courses have been very satisfying, and I am thinking about a career in mechatronics. My research position has opened my eyes to the possibilities of research in engineering. We are developing a new process for the manufacturing of carbon fiber composites, but I am surrounded by many other students that research advanced manufacturing. It is incredible how imaging technology allows us to fine-tune these sophisticated processes!
