Anthony Lombard Pe Email & Phone Number | The most frequent question I have been asked through my college and professional life is “Why did you choose engineering?” I would have to say it is because I grew up on Lincoln Logs and Legos. That may sound childish in a way, but from an early age I was as able to build something from nothing. Taking pieces that mean pretty much nothing by themselves, piecing them together to form this obscure design that would be recycled to build something else. A few years after mastering the foundation needed for future growth, I upgraded to small engines and motors. Most weekends I would grab a lawnmower that was broken and try to figure out what was wrong with it. I started off with the simplest thing that could be checked, spark-plugs and clean gas. From there I broke the engine down further until I could figure out what was wrong and get it running again. I thought these were just weekend projects with my dad, but in actuality they were a class, a chance for me to troubleshoot the problem. I eventually advanced to vehicles engines and their electronics. This opened a whole new can of worms and gave me the opportunity to start troubleshooting on a whole new level. Here not only did you have mechanical items that could break, but you had sensors, relays, fuses, wiring, and computers. Everything to this point has been built off of trial and error and conversations, but I was still left with a few questions; How does this work? Why does this work? Why doesn’t this work? These questions would be answered in the four years I attended college. That is where I learned the methods, equations, and variables that were used to design the machines I was working on growing up. I was able to use real life knowledge and experiences I had to visualize what I was being taught in the classroom. I hope to use the skills and knowledge I have acquired through the years to invest in projects that could help someone, encourage someone, make life easier for someone, or to make a difference.
