My areas of responsibility include: Women's Health in particular cervical cytology, Family planning, including the fitting and removal of contraceptive implants and respiratory care for Asthma and COPD. I also have a lead role in organising, administrating and improving upon the efficiency and profitability of the Travel Clinic. Procuring, on a weekly basis the vaccines for the whole practice, auditing of the stock and ensuring the safety of the vaccine storage for clinical use. I have experience of working within deadlines and targets as a Research Nurse, Including many studies adopted by the National Institute of Health Research portfolio and industrial studies including GSK, Smith & Nephew and Shionogi; maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of data, and the safety of the patients and staff taking part in the study. This research role included working as a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) facilitator, delivering both the advanced refresher course as well as the full day introduction to GCP. This facilitatory role has extended to me leading in the mentor ship and assessment of pre-registration student nurses and I was most honoured to be nominated by students from The University of Plymouth for my advancement to student education. It has been my privilege to be part of facilitating newer nurses careers. Most recently, I received a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice (with merit), which alongside a diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, and the advantages of being a non-medical prescriber, enables me to deliver excellent person-centred care. I am skilled at the work that I do, with much experience and able to adapt readily to the diverse challenges of the job.
