My expected graduation is in 2024. Previous to my current role I have working in different industries, giving me a wide range of intimate knowledge in how they work. Right out of Oregon State University in my early 20's I worked as an underwriter for auto and home insurance. Which led to my transition to inside and outside insurance sales for life and health. I pivoted from there into inside sales in the debt negotiation industry. Once that was behind me I started doing Uber and Lyft for a time before leaving Texas and moving to eastern Tennessee for the opportunity to help grow a tilapia hatchery business. With the pandemic in 2020 the business doubled in size from the previous year, triple since I started, which led to a massive case of burnout. So for the past few years I've gone back to rideshare and started on Shipt and Instacart. No longer feeling burnt out I now feel ready to get back into a more structured environment and start in an industry I feel excited about, information technology. Being an independent contractor for the past several years has given me the ability to problem solve and multitask very quickly with little support from the company while still completing the task, many times in front of the customer. Overall, after wandering through a myriad of industries and roles I am very excited at the prospect of what a tech based career has to offer and what I can offer it with my life experiences so far.
