  Angela GreenIzzo is a After a successful 14 year career with the District School Board in Pasco County, in February of 2018 I decided to take my experience to an urban school setting. I spent six months working with the Gear Up2Lead and Peckham Youth Services learning co-op in Flint, Michigan working to establish an alternative high school and a youth work readiness program with Peckham Youth Services. I also actively participated with a partnership with the 7th district court serving a segment of court appointed youth. This learning co-operative was very successful and thrives today. In November of 2018, I accepted a position with the Lansing School District as a School Improvement Coordinator. In this position, I utilize research-based strategies to improve student-learning outcomes. I worked with the staff and students at Everett High School to establish goals for the academic improvement of ALL students, enhance the culture and climate with student, parent and community engagement and prepare, students for success in their college and career readiness goals. I also managed the title budgets, coordinated standardized testing, coached teachers in group professional development and individually with a focus on instructional strategies and coached varsity softball and freshman volleyball. In the summer of 2022 I accepted a director position with Beecher Community Schools (located on the north side of Flint), to launch a new alternative ed high school. This new school became the Beecher Higher Learning Academy. The school was very successful demonstrating student academic growth and producing graduates. Student growth in math was 53% and reading was 46%. Graduate skills were measured on college and career readiness measures and 100% had a post secondary transition plan. The inaugural year was very successful. In my position with the District School Board of Pasco County (2004 - 2018) I held instructional and leadership positions in adult education, career transition, drop out prevention and school-based departments. I worked on DOE state-level task forces and developed district wide career curriculum for secondary and adult education. I designed and delivered professional development at the school, district and state level. Prior to teaching I held an executive management position with a national company where my supervisory duties and responsibilities were extensive. I have my Master’s Degree from the University of South Florida and my undergraduate degree in Management from the University of Maryland - European Campus.
