Andrew Petras is a Currently I am a school counselor in Garland Independent School District in Texas. Conferral date for my Master of Science in school counseling is August 13, 2022. I also completed an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction for bilingual/bicultural education at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) in December 2018. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in bilingual elementary education (Spanish and English) from UT Austin as well. I am a former bilingual teacher in the Austin Independent School District, Hays Consolidated Independent School District in the Austin, TX area and Garland Independent School district near Dallas, TX. Teaching and counseling are my calling; I wish to do this because of a strong passion I have for working with children and helping them to have hopeful lives and joyful experiences. It is through teaching that I hope to empower people to make the world the best it can be. I enjoy working with children in any setting, even at my church!
