I plan to continue my education in classes, courses and CPEs in these two fields of study throughout my professional career. My original intention for an English degree was to advance myself towards law school. When the economy fell, I decided to go back into school to pursue accounting in order to provide a stable incoming cash flow to maintain living expenses. Currently, I am enrolled in a program through the Lone Star College System that allows degree holders to take various accounting classes to be qualified to take the CPA examination. Only four college systems in the state of Texas have set up this kind of prep plan for CPA hopefuls. I plan to specialize in accounting in the oil and gas field.
