During my time in the army I have been blessed with the opportunity to work in many different settings and locations, each with a unique set of demands and required skill set. I have served as a medical section leader for an infantry company where my focus was to provide combat expedient medical support while also serving as a member of a fire team and a playing an active tactical role in my organization’s mission. I have had the opportunity to work in a clinical family practice setting. My duties included: maintaining medical records, documenting patient interaction and working closely with military and civilian Doctors in order to provide the best possible medical care to soldiers and their families. I am a Flight Medic with hundreds of hours of flight experience as a UH-60 Blackhawk Crewmember. My duty as a flight medic was to provide in- flight medical care to both routine and critically injured patients. Regardless of the position I served in, as a Non-Commissioned Officer I was also responsible for the professional growth, leadership, and mentorship for as many as 25 soldiers. This opportunity to lead others has given me the opportunity to hone my “soft” skills, with an emphasis on performance analysis and counseling, professional development, and scheduling/ planning.
