As a systems engineer, it’s my job to proactively monitor our large storage clusters, networking equipment, servers, and employee equipment (both company issue and BYOD) and other servers using tools like LogicMonitor, Microsoft Intune, and Cisco Meraki. I’m currently in charge of overseeing and planning for our ever growing data storage. We currently have petabytes of storage and it is constantly growing. I need to plan, administer, and protect these larger storage pools. I have had to plan and implement our data storage lifecycle from our large NAS servers (Dell Equallogic and some whitebox NAS storage) to AWS Glacier while maintaining tape backups of the data using IBM Spectrum Protect/Tivoli Storage Manager. I’m always looking to improve our employees’ workflow and system security. I use both Quest KACE to make sure our servers are up-to-date and patched. I use a TeamViewer for remote hands. Microsoft Powershell for scripting functions that handle day-to-day work. Before joining Hronopoulos, I worked at Skyriver Communications, as a NOC Engineer, where my tasks included monitoring the 1000s of nodes across our network and provisioning new equipment for their fixed wireless internet services. I have always been passionate about my work and always interested in connecting with other IT professionals. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, my favorite part would have to be troubleshooting problems. I love the feeling of solving problems. Big or small. I love just going over the troubleshooting steps and finding the answer. I have always loved puzzles. I graduated from Coleman College’s engineering department. I have CompTIA A+ and Network+ (COMP001004253769) certifications.
