Andrea Michelle Torres Email & Phone Number | I began my career as a pastry cook, then as a baker. I wanted to understand what it was to work with your hands. But my mind got bored so, after some years at San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley, I began teaching high school English in San Francisco. In seven years I gained invaluable experience as a leader, a trainer, a counselor, a translator, a manager of projects and people, a negotiator and a representative. I worked with a team of 4 teachers that doubled the literacy scores in a Title 1, inner city school (a big achievement in education), and had the privilege of leading our teacher union as president during the early years of the pandemic. Ultimately I discovered a hunger for greater challenges that the classroom could no longer feed. So now, I as I look for the next mountain to climb, I hope to find a place where I can grow as a leader and continue to find new challenges that intimidate me, inspire me and ultimately rise to them.
