I worked some time as a Rock Mechanics Engineer and then I shifted to the Mine Planning Department. I worked for 5 years as a Mine Planning Engineer, responsible for the short/medium-term production plans of some of the orebodies. At the end of 2014, I decided to move to Sweden, embracing the opportunities only a career abroad can offer. I have worked for 4 years as a Development Engineer (within the Mine Planning Section), responsible for Mine Design and Scheduling Projects, on a long-term basis, working mainly on Garpenberg and Boliden Area mines, but based at the head office, in Northern Sweden. In 2019, I decided to take a new challenge and get a role at Tara Mines, as a Mine Production Scheduling Engineer, based in Ireland. Tara Mines is currently the biggest Zinc mine in Europe. I was responsible for scheduling all development, production and backfill activities, both for short and long-term. At the moment, I am working as the Senior LOM/Strategic Scheduling Engineer, doing R&R design and reporting, and working on improvement projects for the operation. In 2022, I have relocated to Australia, with the purpose of further developing my international career. I am currently working as Senior Long Term Planning Engineer - Mine Planning Team Leader, based in Tritton Copper Operations, on an 8:6 rotation. In January 2024, I decided to move to the West Coast and experience the WA mining industry. I am working at Gold Fields as Senior Mine Planning Engineer, managing a team of 4 talented planning engineers.
