Amr Selim Email & Phone Number | I graduated from the faculty of Arts, South Valley University, with a bachelor in English linguistics and literature, in 2009. Since teaching is my passion, I decided back then to become an English teacher and out of almost 60 applicants, I was the only one selected to kick-start my career at Almostaqbla Private Language Schools in Aswan. After 4 years, I became a senior English teacher at the same school. Then, I stumbled across a life-changing chance, that is, to work for Amideast Egypt in a US department-of-State sponsored program (ACCESS) in its 9th version. I immediately jumped at the chance and soon was selected to be trained in the US for 2 weeks and attend the 50th international TESOL in Baltimore. Meanwhile, I realized that I wanted to be globally certified to be able to live the dream. The Cambridge CELTA was my choice in 2016 and followed it by Train The Trainer in 2020 in order to be a teacher trainer. In February 2019, I pursued my master’s degree in ESP at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), specifically at the College of Language and Communication (CLC) and passed all of the courses with flying colours. Now, I am finalizing my dissertation. Currently, I am in charge of the English program at one of the most renowned hospitals in Egypt and the Middle East, Magdy Yacoub Heart Foundation. I have been working there for about 4 years in the Education Department. I am totally convinced that a professional teacher would create an engaging environment that rekindles passion to learn English so that learners would gain confidence, improve fluency and accuracy to eventually be competent English users. It is a teacher’s duty to enable his learners take over the class and construct their own knowledge through strategies like research, communication and discovery. Finally, having been exposed to a variety of distinctive teaching practices and experiences, I became certain that innovation and diligence are the key elements to success. That's why, I always try to create a vibrant learning environment and energy that seeks to transform mindsets and language skills to the best. I also encourage learners to identify and structure problems, look for possible solutions, and evaluate their decisions. Generally speaking, I strive to create a learning community that lives beyond the walls of a classroom.
