Amitabh Sharma Email & Phone Number | After working for Swiss Red Cross for more than 28 years in various leadership positions in India and Bangladesh, the quest to learn and contribute further to the RCRC movement, led me to move to International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), regarded as the biggest humanitarian network globally, in a regional position based out of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As regional strategic lead of membership services - which was earlier known as National Society Development (NSD) - I am responsible for building NSD strategies that are demand responsive and capitalize on the coordinating and convening capacity of IFRC. Membership services now cover broader array of services as it seeks to contribute to various enabling functions - such as operational and strategic coordination, humanitarian diplomacy, and fostering agility and accountability - that support National Societies in delivering their mandate. More specifically, my position is expected to support review of legal base and statutes of NSs, deepen their auxiliary role, support branch development, guiding and advising on NS resource mobilization strategies, and strengthening youth and volunteer engagement.
