My autism means that my brain is very logical, it likes predictable behavior so I have always been able to understand and interact with machines very well. From an early age I have always enjoyed exploring technology, whether that be opening up an old phone and exploring how it works or trying to find solutions to daily tasks using programming. I have an ease with technology and rules based processing that has always inspired me into a career in computer science. More recently I was fortunate enough to be provided with a days work experience in the cyber security team at a major UK bank, and this experience completely reinforced my fascination with security linked to technology and has fueled my energy towards a career in cyber security and networking in the future. I have also worked in my village store for two years since I was 15, which has challenged me to learn new skills along the way. Prior to that I've done voluntary work in my local scout group. I was able to use my love of technology to introduce a new way of learning through internet enabled tablets which has helped children to develop their skills through web apps.
