I began my nursing career as a certified nursing assistant where I provided basic nursing and personal care to Adult and Geriatric patients in the facility setting. By taking this step I realized I have a passion for helping and healing others emotionally, physically and spiritually. I then became a certified home health aide and worked independently with various Geriatric clients who required extensive, non-skilled nursing care at home. I was proactive in provided assistance of ADL's and promoting independence to my home care clients. Now an LPN, I have acquired various skill sets and I am well on my way to receiving my RN license (projected 2016). My goal is to become a master in Public Health nursing by acquiring more experience through advancing my education. Ultimately, I will further my career amongst many various populations in the home care, school and facility settings raising awareness by health promotion and teaching disease prevention.
