She started in philanthropy as the Program Officer for the Mayer & Morris Kaplan Family Foundation, co-leading the strategic redesign of the 60+ year old Foundation from a governance, geographic and programmatic perspective. Allyson completed her Juris Doctor from DePaul University in Chicago and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2005. She began her career with 8+ years as an Information Technology consultant for Deloitte & Touche focused on large-scale ERP implementations, security and privacy, and risk management. She is a life-long dancer / choreographer who has worked with more than 18 dance companies across the U.S. From 2004-2015, she founded and led Chicago's Space Movement Project, a nonprofit dance organization, co-creating more than 10 original evening length works, touring nationally and internationally, and running a beloved rehearsal space for the Chicago arts community.
