  Allen Criger is a I have dedicated my career to public service. I started within the Abuse/Neglect system as a CASA Volunteer Coordinator. I then worked at First USA/Bank One providing customer service to clients and during that time, also began working with the Springfield Police Dept in Central Records as a Detention Transportation Officer/Police Services Representative. After nearly eight years serving the community in this role, I began serving as a Workforce Development Specialist. In this role, I worked to determine barriers clients faced in finding employment and developing treatment plans to help them overcome those barriers. I was then able to return to working with youth by joining the Greene County Juvenile Office as the Program Director for the Evening Reporting Center (ERC). In the Summer of 2016, the ERC merged with the Greene County Youth Academy (GCYA) and I began in my role as a Program Supervisor for GCYA. In this role, I had the privilege of working with youth between the ages of 12-17 as they comply with the conditions of their Probation in Greene County. I was then able to serve in the role of Coordinator of Operations for the Greene County Juvenile Office, where I was able to take the experience I had gained in previous roles in the office and use that to manage day to day operations and provide program budgets, complete RFPs, complete acquisitions, write and manage grants, and attend to programmatic needs. In the summer of 2022, I accepted the position of Database Administrator and Grants Manager in our Quality Team Unit. This opportunity enabled me to use my graduate studies, statistics gathering and reporting skills, budget experience, and overall knowledge of operations to advance the data collection and data management structures in place for the Juvenile Office. I worked to overcome our data infrastructure issues and developed a database management system to track all of the different features of data from all of our different programs and initiatives. In September of 2023, I accepted the position of Senior Deputy Auditor with Greene County. This new role allowed me to further utilize my data analytics skills and pair them with the government financial management background developed in prior roles with Greene County. As Senior Deputy Auditor, I am able to combine my supervisory experience, financial and data experience and education to provide financial and auditing services to Greene County offices and ensure the transparency in use of taxpayer funds and assist officeholders and staff be good stewards of every tax dollar spent.
