Following this I took a position as a staff nurse in Retreat Nursing Home - a private aged care facility in order to increase my scope and overall ineractions with this age group and have improved my skill set in dealing with this vulnerable population. In this position I have also quickly and efficiently developed my existing managerial and team leading skills as in this role you are not only the staff nurse but also the care lead on your shift. I'm really passionate about continuous learning and self development and have an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Currently I am engaged in research as I'm undertaking a Research MSc based in the Bioscience Research Institute of AIT under the guidance of the Department of Nursing and Healthcare. The focus of my current research is centenarian health and so falls into the realm of gereontology/aged care/social policy. I quite enjoy working alongside others, getting creative and brainstorming in order to accomplish goals and tasks while concurrently achieving optimal results yet am equally strong as an independent worker with high ambition, drive and motivation. I am open to connect with any like minded individuals looking to expand knowledge with a passion for current health issues and otherwise.
