Currently, Ali is completing her project ‘Dancefloor Intimacy,’ supported by a Mead Fellowship grant awarded by the University of the Arts London. This project aims to raise awareness about neurodiversity in nightlife and promote inclusivity through innovative design and adaptable approaches to club operations and environments. As a queer woman, Ali has found queer-centered dancefloors to be safe havens, essential for her community to explore and express their identities. She believes that dancefloors foster unity, break social barriers, and embody shared politics, values, and intimacy. Another notable project of Ali’s is the design and build of the Uhaul Dyke Rescue ‘Mobile Dyke Bar,’ created in collaboration with Lucy Nurnberg. This mobile bar traveled around London and the UK during the summer of 2024, providing a unique and inclusive space for the FLINTA community. In addition to her professional work, Ali co-founded the FLINTA collective, Local Strangers, where she hosts radio shows and DJs alongside her best friend @solarkbd. This collective is dedicated to amplifying the work of womxn in the nightlife and music industry, advocating for greater femme representation behind the scenes.
