I always knew that I wanted to work with animals, but I wasn’t ever sure how to go about it. I started dog sitting when I was around 15 and was watching all the vet shows that were on tv so when I joined college, I decided to go the veterinary route. Somewhere along the way I realized I was more interested in the ocean and its marine life, rather than land animals. At Clarion University I joined conservation, wildlife and non-profit clubs to further my interest. I was always involved with finding a new project or activity for each club. One thing I got the most out of was taking care of a few Eastern Box turtles; although they are not an aquatic species I believe it helped to peak my interest in other aquatic animals. I never got to participate in an internship, but I am recently scuba certified and openly looking to expand my knowledge to gain more experience in my field. I enjoy the outdoors whether its a bike ride, a walk, or just hanging out, I love to write, color, volunteer, and travel.
