Alexandra Barbier Email & Phone Number | A Baton Rouge native filled with wanderlust, I've also explored my creative passions in New York for two years and most recently in France for seven months. Most memorable moments of these detours include ballet classes with Gelsey Kirkland, acting classes through the Atlantic Theater Company, and street jazz classes with Yanis Marshall. Throughout my ten-year relationship with Of Moving Colors, I've participated in residencies and learned the choreography of leaders in the modern/contemporary dance community such as Pavel Zustiak, Scott Putman, Gina Bashour, Stephen Wynne, Sarah Cullen Fuller, and Lindsey Dietz Marchant. I love sharing my passion for dance with the Baton Rouge community and I've had the opportunity to do so by performing at Culture Candy’s Uncommon Thread wearable art show, Forum 35’s Art Melt, Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge’s Fest for All and Lollapalooza, and various other community events. Teaching experience includes East Baton Rouge Parish School System, OMC’s summer arts camp as well as children’s classes for their annual community production Kick It Out, St. Luke’s Episcopal Day School’s Tapestry summer program, St. James Episcopal Day School after-school dance program, ballet classes at The Coda.
