Natural Science offers a broad and flexible course without sacrificing any depth, as all modules are taught to the same level. Because of this, I have been able mould a degree that’s fits my personal interests and passions. The most important aspect of this degree is its interdisciplinarity nature, enabling me to acquire a unique understanding and perspective on how the ideas and tools of science link together. This is invaluable when tackling the complex challenges society faces today such as antibiotic resistance and climate change, which will not be solved by people working in isolation, but by sharing ideas across the sciences and combining them in new ways. Relevant modules include: Organic chemistry Cell biology and its underlying biochemistry Pharmacology Drug design Cell biology of disease Laboratory work for Chemistry and Microbiolgy I graduate in 2023 and plan to pursue a career which allows me to use these interdisciplinary skills within the UK. This would include sectors like patenting or research into drugs, chemicals or consumer goods.
