Akshita Patel Email & Phone Number | I currently work for West Midlands Police as a Police Staff Investigator for Force CID, Initial Investigation. In this role I communicate with members of the public who are victims of crime to gather further information about the crime. I use my knowledge of the Law to determine which crime has been committed and extract the relevant information in order to evidence the crime committed. With the information sourced, I can determine whether there is enough evidence for the case to progress to secondary investigation. My enquiries further include collecting, sourcing out and reviewing CCTV, as well as contacting and sourcing out information from other members of the public who may be able to provide valuable information to a case. Further to this, I take witness statements from victims of crime that form a vital part of the court process. I liaise with external agencies as well as other WMP department's to make referrals for victims of crime that would benefit from extra support. I am interested in working against modern slavery, organised crime and terrorism after recently gaining a Masters in Terrorism, International Crime and Global Security from Coventry University.
