This was my first professional experience where I practiced face to face communication with customers before I moved to Starwood’s Reservation Office in Dubai in January, 2001. In January 2002 I relocated to the office in Cork, Ireland. Moving from the Middle East to the main Reservation Office in Europe was a great change. The Customer Contact Centre in Ireland was the perfect place to advance my customer service skills and explore a variety of cultures with different needs and diverse expectations. Having said that, providing the best service and exceeding guests’ expectations was my daily work. In 2004 I moved to Program Services, SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) which is one of the most sophisticated loyalty programs in the travel industry. Researching and reviewing members’ accounts, monitoring marketing promotions and ensuring accuracy was the main challenge In 2010, after I completed my Bachelor degree in Management at The Cork Institute of Technology, and in order not to miss the challenge of interaction with guests, I moved to the Ambassador department. This department had been initiated to build a personal connection with the elite customers by facilitating their personal experience. In 2011 I was offered the position of Reservation Supervisor to lead a team of 20 associates, a great opportunity to practise the management and leadership skills that I had learned in college. Within these two years I have developed even more skills. In 2013, I was selected for the position of Ambassador Supervisor to lead a promoted team of highly qualified associates. I became more involved in global projects beside my daily work of team management. Working in the Ambassador department is a rewarding experience where everyone in the department is working together, globally to reach unprecedented guest satisfaction.
