In the following years I also gained knowledge and skills in the field of (audiovisual) education, marketing and management. In the first decade of my professional career I worked for Mediterranean migrant minorities in The Netherlands, using my skills for numerous projects and national campaigning and lobby in order to tackle misunderstanding and lack of knowledge between Dutch society and migrant groups. I am convinced that the use of 'imagination' can play a keyrol in reaching out to people all over the world and in creating important results. Poetry, films, theatre, dance and art can be used to develop empathy for disprivileged people. In the second decade of my career I performed management roles within several NGO's. The central focus in my work remained: the support for groups fighting for the right of self-determination, employment, housing, health and education. I feel blessed with the possibilities I got all those years to combine my knowledge and skills with the passion I feel for the people I work for!
