Prior to EMC, Gerry was Seabourn Cruise Line’s Vice President of Marine & Technical Operations. His responsibilities included ensuring that all Navigational, Technical, Health, Environmental, Safety and Security operations of the company’s ships were performed to the highest standards. Gerry filled various roles within the Carnival Corporate Group and has developed a reputation as a successful and dynamic project manager: He was Director of Port Development for Carnival Corporation developing and running various ports for the Corporation’s ships including the Grand Turk Cruise Center and the LongBeach Terminal. Prior to that he was Cunard Line’s Director of Shipbuilding, responsible for the Queen Mary 2 new build project, the first true Ocean Liner built for 30 years. His early years were spent at sea from the age of 11 years old with the Royal Navy Sea Cadet Corps and then professionally for 18 years from Deck Cadet with P&O to Captain working on all shapes and sizes of ships including sailing ships, yachts, tankers and cruise ships before finally coming ashore into management where he has progressed through senior roles, listed above, for the last 25 years plus.
