True Made Foods was born out of my passion for better food for my family and my hatred of ketchup. The leading ketchup brands all have more sugar than ice cream, ounce per ounce, it is basically red sugar. But I couldn't get my four kids to stop eating it, so I fell back on my culinary heritage and made a better one. We shouldn't have to sacrifice backyard barbecues and trips to the ballpark to eat healthy. My mission at True Made Foods is to preserve great American culinary traditions and family events, while also making them extremely healthy, cutting the sugar and adding veggies instead. Prior to True Made Foods I had an eight-year career as a Naval Aviator (SH-60B Seahawk Helicopters), where I deployed around the world and for OIF. For my shore duty, I was stationed at RAF Molesworth where I ran operations and deployments and worked in counter-terrorism. Post Navy, I lived and worked as an entrepreneur in emerging and frontier markets, including China, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Ghana, Uganda and Lebanon. I launched multiple businesses in difficult environments and helped raise debt and equity capital for SMEs in Africa and China.
