As a former National Treasurer of the United Kingdom & Eire Council of Malaysian Students (UKEC), Abir is deeply involved in student activism. She is also a Co-Founder and Board Advisor of AWC Development Berhad, which champions women's empowerment through "Lean In Malaysia," a non-profit inspired by Sheryl Sandberg's #leanin movement. The platform has over 7,000 local members and 300,000 regional network members, challenging societal norms and elevating the status of women. Recognized as a Regional Leader of Leanin.Org by Sheryl Sandberg in 2016, Abir has spoken globally on women's empowerment. She served as a judge for UN Women's WEPs Awards Ceremony in 2021 and was named Malaysia's Women Leader 2022 by the World Women Leadership Congress.
