My teaching philosophy is inspired by the African Proverb  “it takes a whole village to educate a child.” I continuously strive to contribute to the holistic education of the child in partnership with all those involved in his or her upbringing.  I am multi lingual; including fluency in Arabic, English, French, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. I have earned a BA(Languages), a MA in education and 2 Principal’s Certificate (PTC & CTC CertificateS of International Leadership). I have over 15 years of experience in middle leadership and more than 25 years of hands-on classroom practice. My leadership competence includes promoting student achievement by making learning enjoyable and top priority and by raising students’ responsibility, autonomy and ownership. In the area of administrative competence I have high standards of maintaining good rapport with students and staff at the school and ensuring there is a safe and stimulating learning environment. I give learners the opportunity to reflect on what they do. As an administrator, my aim is to foster intrinsic motivation.  My other area of expertise is the use of ICT to maximise learning. I am able use different digital platforms to ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum articulation.  I lead hands-on workshops that support different faculties to document and map out what is taught.  I relish the range of challenges that are part of my job and enjoy working with students, parents, and teachers. My interests, strengths and abilities, along with many years of experience I believe, are exactly what is needed for classroom practitioners’ and administrators’ position in schools with diverse communities.
