I am very excited to work on firmware that controls a variety of products that makes an impact on our everyday life. I worked as an Embedded Software Engineer at Optical Scientific Inc for 2 years and 8 months. The company has mastered manufacturing optical sensors(Mostly weather sensors) and systems. The role was to keep the firmware of these sensors up to date and to develop firmware for new products. I mainly worked on a new prototype called Nano ORG. That's the smaller Optical Rain Gauge with IoT capabilities(Oh yeah, weather sensors can be smart too). The main goal was to keep the device small, cheap, and as accurate as possible. It turns out that you can do a lot with simple mathematical algorithms and cellular modems. I volunteered at UTARI (The University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute) as a Research Assistant for a year. My role was to work on firmware for a device "Smart Seat Cushion" that received a patent in 2018. I also was working on a python-based standalone application for a device. Let me tell you, working in a research environment and high-tech labs is an experience worth having in life. And most importantly, the projects where I started my journey in the Embedded world. During my masters, I developed RTOS from scratch on an ARM M4F microcontroller, made a portable signal generator and network analyzer, and demonstrated the concept of IoT and Closed Loop Systems using DC motor, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi.
