Aaron Wedra Email & Phone Number | I was born in Moline Illinois, but have been a resident of Davis CA since 2000. I was a part of the first class of DaVinci High School in Davis. I attended Sacramento City College and earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Communications. I worked at the Davis Enterprise newspaper for 10 years going from graphic designer to salesperson. All along the way I did side work under my unofficial business called Smartz Graphics. While working at the Davis Enterprise I really got to know the Davis community and even got involved with the Davis Chamber of Commerce. I was an ambassador for the chamber for about 6 years, where I helped new and existing businesses get and stay plugged into the community. While doing chamber activities I met a lot of people and took advantage of a lot of great opportunities. While at a chamber social event I was asked by a friend if I wanted to join the Davis Odd Fellows. I said yes. Getting involved with the Odd Fellows was a pivotal occurrence in my life that spurred on more growth and networking within Davis and Yolo County. A lot of accomplished individuals were involved and I found myself surrounded by mentors. Eventually I started a committee called the Zombie Bike Ride, which has become my greatest life project. By putting on this Halloween bike ride I have been able to implement all of my skills in design and communications. I have even become an event planner. More than one hundred sponsors, collaborators and media partners get involved with the Zombie Bike Ride and we have multiple thousands of event-goers. During the beginning of the pandemic, I was asked to work at the Davis Downtown Business Association. Here I had direct involvement with local government. I played an important role in helping small businesses during the crisis. I was even employed by Healthy Davis Together, a program that received national and even international acclaim. After helping businesses through the pandemic, I took a job at a national organization called Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA), a political non-partisan organization that makes sure that AAPI people have fair representation in American democracy. I became involved in high-level marketing. When my personal business began to sustain me I left the paid role with APAPA and became a volunteer with its Davis Chapter. In 2021 I began my journey with the love of my life Milly Judd. My aunt and uncle, who raised me, still live in Davis, and my two cousins have moved away to Seattle Washington and Spain. My grandmother lives at a care facility in Woodland.
