Aaron Moloney Email & Phone Number | I started in the mining/utilities industry in 2005 as an apprentice electrician/instrumentation technician at BHP's Worsley Alumina refinery. I was trained in a variety of areas such as fault finding, preventative maintenance, high voltage, project management, capital projects engineering and process control. Following this I continued on as a tradesman performing fault finding as part of the Shift Breakdowns Department. In 2010 I decided to broaden my experience and departed to work for an electrical contracting company (SWISPEC) as an electrical and instrumentation commissioner, at the same site, as part of a major upgrade completed by Bechtel. During this time I worked my way to Technical Supervisor via Commissioning Leading Hand before transferring to a similar position at GR Electrical. This involved commissioning of various capital projects before heading up a DCS migration project as a Leading Hand and Field Engineer. To enhance my skills while performing these roles I completed Certificate IV in OHS, Certificate IV in Frontline Management and a Diploma in Project Management. In 2013 I transfered into the utilities sector as a Maintenance Instrumentation and Electrical Technician at Bluewaters Power Station. During this time I returned to Breakdown Fault-finding and Maintenance as well as taking on some other tasks such as Outage Co-ordination, Process Control Modifications and project work. In 2016 I commenced a Bachelor of Honours in Power Engineering which I aim to have completed in 2023. After 5 years in the electrical department I decided to expand my knowledge of the plant by joining the operations team where I completed an Advanced Boiler ticket and Steam Turbine ticket. This current role involes boiler/turbine operational tasks as well as liaising with market operations, network controllers and maintenance personnel.
