Aaron Hazel Email & Phone Number | I have been an educator and a coach for 20 years teaching a variety of subjects. My career path has provided me experience in multiple large public school districts as well as a small faith-based private school. Developing a culture centered around growth and development has been a passion of mine both as a teacher and a coach. Participating in professional communities that focus on improving outcomes for all students has recently been an area where my leadership skills have been directed. My leadership philosophy is to improve myself and those I influence through positive reinforcement and honest feedback. This means that it is important to provide specific acknowledgment when they are excelling, and critical feedback when they are not meeting expectations along with suitable strategies to improve. I have participated in organizational leadership opportunities that have expanded my perspective of equity and inclusion as well as social capital within a professional culture. Engaging in the Equity and Inclusion Program for Educational Leaders at Lewis and Clark College was a transformational experience where I developed a personal equity lense. I was selected to participate in the Christian Brothers Discerning Leaders Program where I traveled with a cohort of professionals to various schools in the San Francisco-New Orleans DIstrict with the purpose of analyzing and assessing the effectiveness of academic and organizational strategies. Currently, I am a member of our schools Instructional Leadership Team where we are researching and implementing professional development focused on improving the social capital within our staff. As a Head Football Coach I have managed a coaching staff of fifteen members and 126 student-athletes. I have also served as an executive board-member for our program booster club that successfully raised over 30,000 annually. In this role, I was one of 50 finalists for the Positive Coaching Alliance National Double-Goal Coaching award. In 2022, I was awarded the Mt.Hood Conference Coach of the Year award in both Football and Girls Golf, and Oregon 6A Co-Coach of the Year.
